Photography & Mindfulness: Discover the Beauty of Your Own Perception with Maria Fernanda Hubeaut

Sliding Scale: $50-85

*Pre-Registration Required*

This intimate workshop invites you to slow down, observe, and reconnect with the world through your own unique way of seeing. Combining the art of photography with the practice of mindfulness, we will explore how presence and awareness can transform not only the images you create but also the way you experience life itself.

Each gathering offers a supportive space to breathe, reflect, and create. Through gentle mindfulness practices focused on presence and breathing, we’ll cultivate a deeper connection with your inner creative spirit—the part of you that is curious, observant, and seeking meaning.

Using your own photographs as a starting point, we will explore how to:

  • Perceive beyond the surface, tuning into what draws your attention and why

  • Express emotions, stories, and intentions through imagery

  • Refine your visual voice and build a portfolio that feels coherent and authentic

Each session includes:

  • Guided breathing and grounding practices

  • Mindful observation and creative exercises

  • Photo sharing and reflective group conversation

  • Practical feedback and artistic direction

Between sessions, participants receive mindful photo assignments to nurture their practice and integrate awareness into everyday seeing.

This workshop is ideal for photographers, artists, or anyone drawn to explore creativity as a form of presence and self-discovery.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Maria Fernanda Hubeaut is an Argentine-American photographer and performance artist whose rich ethnic background and roots in Eastern European life and philosophy inform her life and her work. Nothing is at it appears, and Hubeaut’s composition and timing capture those encounters in which superficial societal constructs break to reveal our human story of survival and joy, and our astounding capacity to hope, grow, and create beyond our self-imposed limits.

She is the creator of La Fotografia Performatica, an artistic manifestation that undoes the limits between photography and performance. Her solo works as well as her collaborative projects have been exhibited both nationally and internationally, in New York, Boston, France, Czech Republic, Japan, Italy, UK and Argentina, namely: Performeando, Queens Museum; Museum Fueguino of Art; Museum of Fine Art, Octavio de la Colina (Argentina); Grace Exhibition Space, BK; Panoply Performance Lab, BK; Open Studios (BOS) Bushwick, BK; The Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA); The IMC Lab + Gallery, NYC; Brooklyn International Performance Art Festival; Villa Victoria Center for the Arts, Boston, MA; and English Kills Art Gallery, BK, to name a few.
